Top 7 Accessory Trends for Spring/Summer 2012
Top 7 Accesory Trends for Spring/Summer 2012

1. STACKED OVERSIZED BANGLES

Pile them on is the best way to showcase your wrist candy. The more the better. Don't be afraid to mix and match different textures, colors and materials.

2. REPTILE PRINT
It won't bite. Reptile Prints are so Hot this season. My personal favorite this season is python. The great thing about reptile print is that it is very versatile. I think Python goes with anything especially when it is in the black/white/gray scale. Designers have shown snakeskin looks for spring and summer, not only in accessories but also in clothing. Please take advantage of  snakeskin accessories, such as shoes, handbags, or belts. There's no need to spend thousands on genuine python accessories because there are plenty of options at all price points. A bit of texture always adds fashion interest, and even faux snakeskin will fit the bill.

3. Pastels/Sorbet Colors

I am going crazy for pastels this season. It wears just as yummy as it tastes. I love pastels because this color scale compliments all skin tones. It is easy to incorporate pastels in your wardrobe with accessories. Your Spring wardrobe is incomplete if you do not have a pastel accessory in it.
4. Tribal Prints

Tribal prints, ethnic fabric treatments, jeweled details, fringed shoes--all of these take inspiration from tribal looks and can add fashion interest to your wardrobe.
5. Funny Sunnies

One of the biggest accessory trends spotted on the Spring '12 runways is bright, perfectly circular sunnies. It's a little John Lennon with a bit of '90s-cool thrown in — and designers like Stella McCartney, Diane Von Furstenberg, Erdem, etc showed round shades in many finishes and colors. It is definitely a fun, daring and unconsciously vintage.
6. METALLIC/FUTURISTIC

This season the futuristic/metallic trend is making a strong comeback. I recently went shopping in Chanel and saw this wonderful clutch featured here: Wishlist: Chanel Stuff 2012.  Lately, an abundance of mirrored pumps and geometrical shapes have been showcased everywhere . I love everything about this trend. My only advice would be to not overdo it -- the tin man is not sexy. Well he is- but you are human and should look as such. If you are going to incorporate the metallic/futuristic trend , use it as an ACCENT and not a themed look. Pop on some metallic shoes with a contemporary outfit, use it as an accent in nail polish, a belt, a clutch or handbag or shoes--- try not to do more than one accent piece in a look.

7. FINGERNAIL POLISH

Fingernail polish has been trending for some time now and I would consider it the most important accessory in your outfit. Nail polish is such an important part of your look.. so please take extra time and pay extra attention to your nails. Something as simple as wearing a black and white dress, with red lipstick and a pop of color with yellow nails instantly makes an average look more interesting and more stylish. Love this color by Essie by the way!!!!!!
